TOURISM OF PAPI KONDALU


Papikondalu is a hill station in Khammam district of Telangana State,India. Papikondalu are distributed among Khammam,the entrance of Papi kondalu will be seen from Koruturu (West Godavari District). many people vist"s this place for a cool and pleasnt climate. Papikondalu are three in number situated like a wall in the midst of holy river Godavari.

March and April are the good times to visit this place for toursim.
Polavarm Project which is planned to be constructed across Godavari river on is considered to be a threat to Papi Hills. it would displace 276 villages of which
many are tirbal villages situated in Papi Hills
.

Teak, Arjun and Rose Wood are most commercial forest timber products. Very rare medicinal plants do also exist in Papi kondalu.


Histrory

The original name for this hill was ‘Papidi Kondalu’. Papidi is a rough translation for partition in Telugu. Since this vary looks like a neat partition that splits river Godavari, this name was coined. there’s also another concept the vary looks like a partition of a typical Indian Woman’s hair line. In due course, it settled for ‘Papi Hills’.

TOURISM OF KHAMMAM 

 BHADRACHALAM TEMPLE

Bhadrachalam is one of the major pilgrim centre in Telangana for Hindus. This city is famous for the temple of Sri Rama built by Bhakta Ramadasa during 1630 AD. Ramadasu was a devotee of Lord Rama. The temple has been constructed beside the banks of river Godavari and has been renovated recently. Situated in Khammam district of Telangana, the place is also surrounded by Chattisghad and Orissa states. There will be a festival in each year during the month of April (Rama Navami day) in Bhadrachalam.


Visiting places in Bhadrachalam


The main attraction of Bhadrachalam is Sri Rama temple.The temple timings are from 4.30am to 5.00am.Temple reopens at 7.00am and will be opened till night 9.00pm.


It is believed that Sri Rama, Laxmana and Sita stayed nearer to Bhadrachalam in a place called Parnashala, 35kms from Bhadrachalam. It is from this place Ravana kidnapped Sita. On the way to Parnashala to the left, crossing the river Godavari, a small water falls can be seen which is quite a pleasant place. One more water falls called Kinnerasani is located approximately 40Kms from Bhadrachalam. A well known paper mill (Bhadrachalam Paper Boards Limited) is situated nearer to Bhadrachalam (7-8 kms away).
